An amber colored ale, Black Isle Red Kite is brewed using only the highest quality Maris Otter pale and crystal malts for flavor and body. Challenger hops for bittering with the late addition of Styrian Goldings creates a balance of quenching citrus and malt, and a classic aromatic finish to this refreshing ale. This beer is bright amber with a toasted nut flavor and powerful orange fruit aroma.

Orange farge med høyt hvitt skum. Lukter malt, Appelsinskall. Medium fylde. Smaker noe av sjokolade. Noe bitter og krydret avslutning.

Bottle from Booths, Media City. Deep amber-red with a thin head. First came across this at Black Isles old brewery premises in my pre-Ratebeer days. It’s still a top notch pale ale! Hopped with a slightly dry texture and taste, but maintains a crisp and appealing fruitiness, it slips down the palate well with a smoothness and is clean tasting. The water is superb in this ale.

330ml Bottle - Copper in colour. Chestnuts, raisins, chocolate orange and some roasted notes in the aroma. Hazelnuts, chocolate, orange and some slightly roasted notes feature in the moderately tangy and crisp taste.

Cask at Hootananny, Inverness. Pours clear amber with an off-white head. Caramel malts, light roastiness, bit of fruit. Nothing too interesting really.

Cask at cloisters. Pours clear copper-red with a thin, off-white head. Aromas of caramel, light acetic note, hob-nobs. Taste is sweet oat biscuits, caramel. Sweet finish.
