Quite bitter, it remains nevertheless pleasant thanks to the hops which reveal to the nose and mouth aromas of citrus fruits, mango and exotic fruits.

33cl bottle from Carrefour market in Eupen, Belgium.
F: big, egg-white, good retention.
C: deep gold, hazy.
A: malty, orange, apricot, spicy, honey.
T: medium malty base, apricot, peach, honey, apples, tropical fruits touch, nice balanced bitterness, medium carbonation, more Belgian IPA than blonde yet enjoyable beer.

Bij een familie reünie als cadeau gekregen op 16-09-2023. Aangekocht door een Waalse/Luikse collega van de schenker.
Thuis voorgesteld aan mijn smaakpapillen op 25-11-2023.
Bestiale Blonde wordt gebrouwen door brouwerij Bestiale uit Luik, opgericht door Simon Charlier die door verschillende landen reisde om uiteindelijk het belangrijkste ingrediënt in Canada te ontdekken. Toen hij besloot om zijn eigen bier te creëren liet hij het proeven door ruim 200 mensen zo kon hij het recept aanpassen en ontstond de Bestiale Blonde. In 2015 werden de eerste brouwketels aangeschaft.
BESTIALE BLONDE is een helder amber bier dat veel gebroken wit schuim aanmaakt in een moussige vorm met veel grove bellen in. Het blijft sterk aan je glaswand kleven maar zakt naderhand vlug in elkaar tot er nog slechts een fijn dun laagje overblijft. Op de bodem van het flesje is in de rand nog een klein gistdepot te merken en in je glas zie je een normale hoeveelheid fijne CO2 belletjes omhoog parelen.
HET AROMA:
Zoetig, hopbitter, pompelmoes, een lichte moutige tint.
DE SMAAK:
Zoetig, bitterig, pompelmoes, een kleine moutige toets.
HET MONDGEVOEL:
Een volle body en een normale tot medium koolzuurprikkel.
DE NASMAAK:
Het bittere vloeit lang uit, verder licht zoetig, een pompelmoes hint, een zeer lichte mout toets.
HET TOTAALGEVOEL:
Een harmonieus bier.
HET VERDICT:
Pompelmoes all the way, niet te sterk maar toch genietbaar. Een goed blondje in ieder geval, zo eentje waar je gelijk nog eentje wil van drinken, wat heel goed kan gezien het lagere alcoholgehalte.

Minimal hazy amber beer with a beige head. Aroma of floral hops, fruity hops, oranges, yeast. Taste of spicy bitter hops, citrus, flowers, pale malt, yeast, long bitterness.

Hazy amber colour, white foam. Medium sweet with heavy hoppy bitterness, well balanced, nice hoppy. Good!

The first beer from one of a whole new league of locally operating microbrewers (and dedicated commissioners) in the Belgian province of Liège, themed around Walloon wildlife. Thick and frothy, eggshell-white, papery lacing, pillowy, stable head on a hazy peach blonde beer with deep, warm orangey hue. Aroma initially dominated by sharp carbon dioxide, but quickly shifting to impressions of dried apricot, deep-fried tomato peel, coriander seed, 'herbes de Provençe', soggy rusk, gypsum, tamarillo, old dried out grapefruit peel, peanuts, vague chicken broth note. Crisp, fruity onset, sharply carbonated with very minerally effect; impressions of dried apricot, unripe peach and vague apple peel and unripe pear, quite restrained in sweetness, in all; light sourish edge around a 'fluffy', bready malt base with grainy sides, leading to a quite long, earthy finish, in which spicy coriander (and a thyme-like accent) pops up but turns out to be no match for a lingering, leafy, drying hop bitterness, much more so than I was expecting - yet not sufficiently so for the (Belgian!) IPA stamp. An old school hoppy blonde, nothing truly innovative and a bit 'dirty-yeasty', but feeling honest and well-made, in fact better than I was expecting, to be frank. Not bad at all for a first one, certainly not in a classically Belgian context.

On tap @ Pot au Lait (Luik). Hazy golden color, white head with good retention. Aroma with notes if sweet malts and cookies. Flavor is slightly sweet, some citrusy, good maltiness. Smoothy and flowery final.
