12oz bottle. Poured a relatively clear ruby/reddish brown color with a small tan head. Aroma was bitter coffee notes, with a solid roasted malt character to it. Taste was bitter coffee, slightly sweet malt notes (like a standard brown ale). This was okay, but certainly not as exciting as I had hoped.

Bottled. A hazy dark brown beer with a lazing dark brown beer. The aroma has notes of coffee, malt, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of coffee, chocolate, roasted matl, and a bit of wood, leading to a dry coffee finish. Thanks yespr for sharing.

33 cL bottle. Pours hazy amber with a small tan head. Aroma is spiced, herbal and cold coffee. Citric and milky. Dense coffee herbal and spiced dry finish.

Bottle 35,5 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours a reddish amber with a slight haze and a lacing beige head. The nose has some cabbage at first but then comes the Espresso roast rushing in. Medium body, very roasty with a distinct edge of coffee. Very subtle and short finish with no real hoppiness. 290911

cloudy brown, large smooth light brown head. aroma of coffee powder, roasted coffee, malts. quite dusty aroma. flavor is chocolate, espresso, something resembling sawdust a bit watery..

Bottle shared by badnewsbeers. Fiery dark orange-brown, sediment-laden body, thin dense tan head. Nose of coffee beans, vanilla, toast, and brown sugar; light. Weird, rather thin body with cocoa and coffee beans, sharp carbonation, and tannic berryskins; sharp and medicinal. Dry, thin, but still good.

Sample at the tap room. This beer is a dark coffee brown color with a thin beige head that recedes quickly. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted coffee beans and malt. Medium body with a rich coffee character underscored by charred wood and dark chocolate. The finish is roasty with a lingering black coffee aftertaste. Very good beer overall.

Re-entering older ratings. Base reste la Maduro qui a déjà été détaillée dans mon autre revue pour cette dernière. Une des mes versions préférées de Maduro et faisant usage parfait du café local de Tampa. Les premiers batches étaient à mon goût plus fort en café ce qui n’était pas déplaisant. Cet aspect torréfié se marie à merveille avec la bière de base sans pour cela ruiner le tout dans une marre de café. L’espresso se fait bien ressentir aussi bien avec son arôme que son palais.

Intensiver Espressogeruch, dazu eine karamellige Süße. Der Antrunk ist noch vergleichsweise mild, Kaffeenoten, dezente fruchnoten und verschiedenartig ausgeprägte Malze buhlen hier ein wenig ungeordnet um die Oberhand. Die Röstigkeit ist erstaunlich gering, die errochene Karamelligkeit ist vorhanden, daraus resultiert aber überraschend keine Süße. Die röstige Intensität ist beeindruckend, dabei ist das Bier ausgewogen, im Abgang leider auch ziemlich trocken. Deutliche Espressonoten, vollmundig, erdig, wenig Schokolade im Abgang. Rundes, wirklich sehr interessantes Bier! 11/11/12/14/15/12

If it’s not gonna be a hoppy brown ale, might as well make it a coffee brown ale. Seriously. Not that we can get Cubano-Style Espresso Brown Ale in Charleston anyway, but my other favorite Brown, the hop beast from Duck-Rabbit, is also nowhere to be found in this part of SC. Why must we suffer from a lack of good browns? Can’t even get Dogfish Brown. Stupid distributors. Anyway, this beer rocks. Coffee is good. Brown ale is good. Coffee brown ale is good.
