Having put our heads together with the awesome team at the bar, we decided on brewing a coffee pale. From there we consulted our regular coffee supplier (of Nightliner fame) to better understand what strain of coffee would suit a pale beer. Marsha at Curved Brick suggested Bosque, a Columbian blend known for being very clean with prominent hints of Orange. We teamed Bosque up with Amarillo and Cascade hops that bring big citrus, grapefruit and orange hits complimenting the balanced coffee aroma and flavour. All this is laid over a malt base of Super Pale, Oats, Wheat and Caramalt to provide a full-bodied, refreshing coffee pale ale.

On tap at Brewdog Oxford, Monday 5th November 2018 in the company of Helen and Geraint. Pours hazy mid gold with a white head. Coffee is certainly in there from the start but there is something else that I cannot quite place, it's almost a touch of spice. Good beer. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.6

Keg at BD Soho, 18/10/18. Lightly hazed golden orange with a well presented off white head. Nose is coffee grinds, orange pith, grass, melon, toasted bread. Taste comprises tangy citric zest, coffee, toasted grains, orange pith, light pine, airy malts. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with balanced hop bitterness. Decent coffee pale.

[ As Signature Brew / Brewdog Soho Radio Java ].
ABV: 5.4%. Hazy - murky matt medium amber yellow colour with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, sweet malt pale malt, coffee - java coffee. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, coffee, sweet malt, caramel, fruity hops, java coffee, dusty coffee, medium dry. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20181021]

Keg at Brewdog shepherds Bush for the collabfest 2018. A hazed dull oranage coloured pour with a sticky greyish white head. Aroma is woody coffee, wheat cardamon, oramge rind,,. Flavour is composed of, dusty, woody coffee, orange rind. Woody coffee,. Palate is semi sweet, dusty grains. Moderate carbonation. Not bad.
