Kasteel Hoppy is a blonde speciality beer that fits perfectly into the wave of IPA beers (Indian Pale Ale). Thanks to the addition of herbs and the mildly malty character, the youngest member of the Kasteel range is not a ‘hop bomb’. Kasteel Hoppy is a full-bodied blonde beer predominated by the aromas of hops. However, the bitter taste does not dominate.

Pours a fairly clear golden color, topped with a very big and semi-lasting white soapy head. Grassy aroma, some soury grape notes, white wine feel to it. Moderate bitterness, white wine feel, soury. Slight fruity feel later on. A bit yeasty and earthy as well. Not the worst one, but still not that great.

Hoppy aroma. Big white head. Taste is a little sweet with obvious hop bitterness. Kind of IPA-like.

This one tastes like a generic Belgian pale ale, maybe a bit drier than most. No idea where the extra hop profile comes in, it’s not in the taste and not in the aroma either. A decent beer nonetheless.

Not kasteel, not hoppy. Quite tasty, but not very interesting.

Bardzo dobre, ze spora pianka trwala, metnym kolorze zlota. Pachnie chmielnie, aromatycznie. Smak dobry lekko slodowy ale o przewadze chmielu i goryczki. Belgijski chmiel wyczuwalny mocno. Na koncu smak biszkoptow.

Tap at Le Senk. Aroma candi sugar, funky saisony, fruity. Clear yellow colour. Okay head. Taste is saisony funky typically Belgian, hints of candi, fruity. Rather thin bodied and very easily drinkable. Rather sweet and malty, clean impression. Quite good.

Helder geel bier met schuim. Smaak is inderdaad hoppig bitter en licht fris zuur, echter valt wat tegen in vergelijk met triple hop bieren. Zeker niet slecht.

Bottle from Terre de Boissons Calais. Clear gold lasting thin white head. Good noble hop Sherbet aroma. I like it. Not overly complicated but I love the hops. Decent and distinctive Belgian blond

Bottle at home in London - picked up from Beermerchants. Pours clear gold, lightly effervescent, with a creamy white head. The nose holds doughy malts, cereal, straw, faint yeast and citrus. Light to medium sweet flavor with some grainy pale bread, lemon rind, dirty hay, grass. Medium bodied with average, spritzy carbonation. Sweet finish with further grainy bread, hay, rindy lemon, other dried citrus, straw. So so.
