Kasteel Hoppy is a blonde speciality beer that fits perfectly into the wave of IPA beers (Indian Pale Ale). Thanks to the addition of herbs and the mildly malty character, the youngest member of the Kasteel range is not a ‘hop bomb’. Kasteel Hoppy is a full-bodied blonde beer predominated by the aromas of hops. However, the bitter taste does not dominate.

33cl bottle. Poured golden color with a thick white head. Quite a malty Belgian ale. Floral hoppy, somewhat dry finish. Boring, not much happening in flavor.

Apr. ’16. A 0.33 l bottle that poured a hazy golden body with frothy and short living head, although it was big initially. Sweetish aroma, fruity and yeasty with touch of grassy hops. Light as a whole. Flavor was bitter, but also very balanced with lightly sweet vanilla malt. Bitterness was herbal and floral. Very highly carbonated, although still thin in body. Longer, lightly bitter finish. Not bad, just unimpressive, especially as a Belgian. Too thin.

A light yellow beer, a head is big and white. Aroma has strong apples and perries which are more sour than sweet, some spices. Aroma is near of "Duvel" -clone. Taste has apples, other fruitness, some spices, maybe even some hops. Medium bodied, fresh, strong carbonation. appoja. Basic good belgian ale with apples. Positive beer thus I haven’t any expectations.

( Bottle, 0.33 l - BBE 10-2017, from Alko, 20160629) The beer poured golden and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had Belgian style yeast, grass and metal. Palate was medium bodied with rather high carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, Belgian style yeast, grass and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet and bitter. The taste was way too thin and carbonation was too high. Disappointment.

Flesje 33 gedronken. Aroma is hoppig en toch fruitig. Goudgeel bier met stevige witte schuimkraag. In de smaak komt de citrus naar boven. Smaak ebt snel weg.

Bottle shared thanks to sjogro. Hazy golden with very big fluffy bright white head. Sweet malts, light spicy yeast, grassy, cardboard, light light lime, bitter leafy vegetables. Under medium sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with quite some fizzy carbonation. Pointless but not that bad overall.

F: thin, white, quick gone. C: almost clear, gold. A: weak malty, candy, grassy, straw, yeast. T: malty, grassy bitterness, hint of citrus peels, watery, toasty, thin-bodied, average carbonated, I expected more interesting hoppy character, 0,33l bottle from Match supermarket in Brussels.
