Kasteel Hoppy is a blonde speciality beer that fits perfectly into the wave of IPA beers (Indian Pale Ale). Thanks to the addition of herbs and the mildly malty character, the youngest member of the Kasteel range is not a ‘hop bomb’. Kasteel Hoppy is a full-bodied blonde beer predominated by the aromas of hops. However, the bitter taste does not dominate.

330ml bottle; BB Jun 19. Poured into a Chimay chalice at home on 16th Jun 18. Clear golden body, white covering that soon turned into a wisp and collar. Piney hop nose, taste also piney, resin like in a hop bitterness. Nice crisp feel to this hop centric brew.

Waterig, voor een biertje met hop in de naam is de hop wel erg ver te zoeken. Wat wil je met 45 IBU?!

Bottle, 6.5%. Rough grainy aroma. Almost clear golden colour. Big stable white head. The flavour is malty and sweetish with a hint of vegetable. Fairly watery finish. I do not get much more hop than in any other Belgian ale.

Bottle. Pours clear golden with airy but stable white head. Clear aroma of yeast and hops, with malty notes. Bitter flavour of grass and hops, with malty and estery notes and mild touches of fruit. Bitter and estery aftertaste. Okay but rather watery.

Poured into a tulip, the appearance was a rugged burnt pale yellow to orange color with a nice looking level foamy head that dissipated evenly leaving some foamy rings.
The aroma balanced nicely between citrusy and floral hops eventually. But a big bold puckering sour citrus hit me first. Some Belgian sugars do sort the end of it out nicely.
The flavor ends up yielding to the Belgian sweet citrus and floral hoppiness. Puckering sour effect still comes back, all blends into the aftertaste but the puckering sour seems to leave in the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionability about it. The \"sour\" seems to have glided out a lot more. Good carbonation with the hoppiness creating a nice bitterness about it.
Overall, nice Belgian pale ale combining bitter hoppiness to the sour. I would have again.

Smell of grass, malt. Hazy golden colour, very high white head. Aroma of yeast, grass, paper, some overripe fruit in finish. Starts off as a papery lager, ends as a heavily yeasty belgian strong with grassy notes. Seriously imbalanced. Starts bitter, finishes sweet.
