Side Trail Series — Juiced in Time is a New England-style IPA that's absolutely dripping with ripe tropical fruit and bold juicy citrus flavors. Wheat and oats were added to the malt profile along with a special mineral treatment to the water to create body and smooth texture. Virtually all the hops were reserved for after the boil to minimize bitterness and amplify flavor and aroma. From the glowing orange appearance to the soft creamy mouthfeel and delicate sweetness, this beer is

Can sourced from De Bierliefhebber and shared at home - hazy golden pour with a white head. Medium sweet cross section of tropical fruit in play, soft malty backing, medium body, light bitter citrus rind, piney resinous hoppy finish. Ok.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, best before 6/2019, batch 5041. Pours opaquely hazy deep golden amber/light orange color with a 2 finger dense and fluffy off white head with amazing retention, that reduces to a large cap that lasts. Thick foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big mandarin orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, red apple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew, watermelon, berries, citrus peel/zest, light pepper/pine, wheat, biscuit dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big mandarin orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, red apple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew, watermelon, berries, citrus peel/zest, light pepper/pine, wheat, biscuit dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Mild pine, citrus peel/zesty, herbal, floral, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of mandarin orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, red apple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew, watermelon, berries, citrus peel/zest, light pepper/pine, wheat, biscuit dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a goods bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and bready malt flavors; with a solid malt/bitterness balance; and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/bready, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is great. Slight lingering resins through the glass. Mild increasing warmth/hop burn through the glass, but not overwhelming. Overall this is an excellent NEIPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mildly bitter/drying finish, great soft feel. Feels like Citra/El Dorado. Very juicy, vibrant, and lightly dank/earthy hop complexity; with a perfectly balanced wheat/oat/malt backbone. Mild residual sweetness with lingering dryness. A very enjoyable offering, and impressive spot on style example.

Green onion and some mango. Some odd dish water type aroma, slightly infected. But still pretty decent. Golden orange pour with OK head. Green onion finish. Tap at Smoke and Barrel.
