Draught @ Strassenbräu, Berlin. Pours cloudy very dark brown with stable tan head. Clear aroma of malt, barrel and fruit, with touches of yeast and vanilla. Ditto flavour, with notes of chocolate. Bitter and barrellike aftertaste. Warming alcohol presence. Good, tasty, well-balanced, and potent. Yummy.

Draught, 15% at the brewpub. Distinct vanilla aroma, some of it probably from barrels. Black colour. Small stable light brown head. The flavour is sweet with some vanilla and a good bitterness. Mild red wine note and a warming alcohol finish. Also good sourness from the barrel to balance. Chocolate finish.
