Lager. It’s Germany’s gift to the world. As we celebrate the opening of BrewDog DogTap Berlin with a trio of Prototypes to make its final line-up – we had to brew a Helles. As golden as a Spree-side sunrise, this beer is Berlin in microcosm. Floral, balanced, dry and with malt driven sweetness merging into a refreshing, crisp finish this is everything you want from German beer and more.

On tap at BrewDog Berlin Mitte as 5.2% version. Unclear greenish golden, small off-white head. Aroma is grainy, bready, hay and some honey. A gentle floral note. Light body, moderate to high carbonation. Dry and quite bitter for a Zwickle. Nice bready flavour, hay, grass. Finish is light but lasting.

On tap at Brewdog - St Pauli (Hamburg), pours a clear pale golden blonde with a large foamy white head. Aroma is fresh, with a vibrant herbaceous spiciness to the hop profile, fresh straw, and crisp biscuity malt. Flavour is bright and fresh, with fresh herbaceous notes, straw and biscuity malt. Crisp, herbaceous, spicy and fresh. Very good.

Draught Small, just off-white head over still, clear golden beer. Grainy, greenery, fresh notes. Bitter, yeastbitter, pale malts. Finish is a tad spicy-bitter, as from some bittering herb. Tobacco flavour. Aftertaste is sweet. Light body, bit slick, low carbonation. Decent.

Keg @ Brewdog Waterloo. Misty yellow pour, good white froth. Mild zwickel sweetness on the nose, continuing to taste, mildly sweet overall, clean and drinkable.

Slightly hazy golden pour. Aromas of malts/grains with a hint of toffee/caramel. Tastes of malt/grain, some herbs, light spices and citrus.

Keg at Brewdog Lothian Road. Pours just clear yellow gold with a thin white head. Aromas of light corn and lemon. Taste is more of the same. Pretty much what you'd expect.
