Coopers in renowned for its expertise in top fermentation and natural bottle conditioning. This process gives the iconic 'Red Label' Sparkling Ale a cloudy appearance and a fruity and floral aroma. Generous use of malt and hops deliver a delicious malty palate and a well-balanced after bitterness.

Little has changed since Thomas Cooper brewed his first batch of Sparkling Ale in 1862. It's still naturally conditioned in the bottle with our unique strain of Coopers yeast. To enjoy the complete Sparkling experience, roll the bottle to mix in the yeast sediment before pouring. No additives. No preservatives.

Our much loved Sparkling Ale is a bold and distinctive beer with a perfect balance of malt, hops and fruity characteristics. One of the things that give our ales that unique Coopers flavour and cloudy appearance is a process called natural conditioning. To achieve this, we add a small amount of live yeast to our beer just before packaging. This causes a secondary fermentation in the bottle or can, which carbonates the beer and eliminates the need for any preservatives or additives.

Sample, thanks to Graham down there! Pours gold, vague mist with a white head that recedes to a patchy splodge. Aroma of sweet butterscotch, which continues onto the palate, fairly sweet, toffee, distant orange, fair carbonation. Not quite harmonious but still flavourful. Ok.

1/6/2024. Bottle at Prague GP beer share. From Beautiful Beers, Bury St Edmunds. Pours slightly hazy orange amber with a small frothy white head. Aroma is sweet, caramel, tropical fruit, biscuit, yeast, starchy edge. Quite sweet with moderate bitterness and body. Very oily, quite fizzy.

Bottle from Fountainhall Wines. It pours lightly hazy golden - blonde with medium fluffy white head. The aroma is waxy citrus peel, orchard fruits, pear drops, apricot, persimmon, floury bready, grain and oatly biscuits. The taste is firm, dry, bitter - sweet, grain, rich tea, biscuit, apricot, persimmon, grain, pear drops, melon, touch of spice, earthiness and backed goods with a drying finish. Average body and moderate carbonation. A big step up from the pale ale at least. Nice fruity character and hearty malt base.

hazy golden to bright orange colour, huge, dense yellowish off-white head; aroma of (lemon)grassy, wheaty-bready, apple and slight peppery notes; taste is similar to the aroma with quite intensive hoppy bitterness and peppery aftertaste; correct one
