Black in colour with a creamy tan head and delicious roasted caramel and chocolate flavours. It's hearty, robust and everything a good stout should be.

Pour jet black with a pretty decent brown head.Dark chocolate and espresso on the nose with some chalk, sweet fruitiness (and bananas???) and liquorice in the background.Big rich flavour: huge roasted malt presence, almost burnt, with some sweet alcohol hidden underneath. Finishes with a strong unbalanced roasted bitterness.Big rich creamy body, some alcoholic heat.A very ashy, full-on stout

Bottle. Opaque black with tan head. Aroma of dark roast malt, with chocolate and coffee and a hint of fruit. Medium body with lots of fluffy carbonation. Taste is dark roast malt with drak chocolate some balancing tart flavours and a fair amount of bitterness that lingers. It is a good stout.

375ml bottle, bought at GBBF and enjoyed on a hotel room in Earls Court. Plain, black body under a noisy, beige foam. Smell of roasted malts. Dark malty profile balanced by a touch of tartness. Rather abrupt finish. Soapy mouthfeel (06.08.2008).
