Vicious and viscous, this menacing brew pours opaque black with a creamy maduro-colored head. Its aroma offers seductive whiskey, chewy red wine, dark fruit and lavish tobacco. Berserker Imperial Stout invades your taste buds with in-your-face flavor. Weighing in at almost 13% alcohol by volume, Berserker is completely out-of-control. Give it a good fight.

650ml bottle from Elizabeth Station shared with George. Pours a damn oily almost black with a dark beige head. Aroma is huge maple syrup, bourbon, molasses, very sweet. Similar taste with some burnt sugar notes. Fairly good, but a bit oversweet for me.

Bottle share. Dull pour, flat and oily, small ring of brown head. Aroma.a is harsh and wooden. Taste smoothes out a little, Dirty, earthy, peaty, a bit of alcohol warmth, bitter at the tail. Salvages itself after a questionable start.Vintage pour, definitely gets better with she. Smooth, sweet and boozy

Pitch black, fully opaque coloured body with an oily head and a very thin, half centimetre tall rich brown head. Aroma of rich roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, earth, raisins, prunes, molasses, maple, licorice and alcohol - very strong and rich, just in the aroma! Full-bodied; Super rich malty flavour with alcohol, maple, licorice, chocolate, coffee, earth, toffee caramel and a lot of complexity from pit fruits and sugars with a lot of bourbon and oaky notes noticeable. Aftertaste is insanely rich and flavourful with some strong complexities, but a relatively easy to drink and well hidden alcohol beer for the style, if that is possible at all for a double-digit beer. Overall, definitely worth sampling if you can find it, I’m glad I kept mine around for a while - it surely helped round out the edges by having it age a bit. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Portland (Pearl), Oregon on 04-May-2015 for US$15,99 sampled at home in Washington on Christmas Day, 25-December-2016.

22 oz bottle poured, to celebrate Bengals 2016 touchdown #3. 1 year of age on this bottle. Gio. Pours midnight black with no head to speak of. Huge Bourbon aroma with a maple constant. Flavor is a rich chocolate, strong oak, maple, and potent bourbon. Has a slight doughy element. Slightly smokey. Overall a fun imperial, but not too memorable.

From a 22 oz. bottle. Pours an inky black with a quickly dissipating tan head. Aroma of rich dark chocolate and whiskey. Flavors of dark pit fruits, oak and tobacco. Bitter roast finish.

This is really good but it’s not blowing me away. Very rich and powerful. Yet smooth and drinkable.

Bottle from Whole Foods, Lynnwood, WA
Pitch black like no other beer that I had in recent times, with brown thin head; it pours rather viscous. Nice aroma of dark rye bread, the bourbon cask too is evident, and some alcohol. Thick body, almost oily; the roasted malt and sugars are in perfect balance, there is a good amount of dark chocolate, a hint of spices, black pepper, tobacco, and more than a trace of liquorice; the alcohol gently warms the tongue, but given the ABV the feeling is moderate; the bourbon flavor is less evident than the aroma; if there is one thing I could change here, I would remove the light sourness from the dark malts.
Great sipper.
