Brewed with an assemblage of malts, this porter expresses authenticity and freshness, with a great body and great colour due to the generosity of the Chocolate malt and Roast barley blend used in brewing. With a complexity of aromas including dark chocolate and toasted malts, against a toffee and caramel background and a soft rounded hop note to deliver a long lingering finish. This is a beer with a message and the message is ‘More’!

At a tasting, thanks, small bubbly off white head, clear brown color with just a hint of reddish hues, aroma of dark toasted bread, some fudge and caramel sweets, flavor of dark bread with a hint of caramel and dark honey, light bodied and not too exciting.

Bottle sample at a tasting at troubles’s place. Thanks Tom L. Deep amber to brown color with a beige head. Aroma of malt, nuts, caramel, toffee. Sweet flavor with caramel, toffee, nuts, light roastiness, and a drier and slightly bitterish finish. Medium-bodied.

12 oz. bottle from Molloy’s. Pours fairly thin and watery into the pint glass. More carbonation than I’m used to from a porter, which is not a good start. Traditional porter roasty toasty aromas, but again, a little thin, aroma is struggling to come out. Taste is again roasted malts, some nuttiness, thin watery and way over carbonated. Doesn’t hold up to the competition.

Keg @ 57 The Headline, Dublin [210114]
Fairly dark brown, bubbly off white head, looks more like a dark brown bitter, some lacing
Aroma - some burnt roast, some burnt coffee, not getting much else
Taste - soft roast, coffee grounds, dab of chocolate, taste better than aroma, rather average, little dull
Palate - Medium carb, bit too fizzy, fairly bitter. Finish as main flavour, fairly bitter roast, burnt finish
Overall - Didn’t engage one much, doesn’t really suit keg, not a big fan of this
