[backlog] 09-04-16 / bottle at home, bought in Belgium. Spicy malt, some floral hops. Plums. I started rating my beers with Untappd and a few basic notes. Now I want to rate them on ratebeer. So my rating sometimes lack some information. Just ignore it, it is for my personal statistics. Untappd-Rating 2.75/5 --- Beer merged from original tick of Cochonne on 09 Apr 2016 at 21:17 - Score: 5

Brown colour with thin head. Aroma is a bit musty with some cardboard. Flavour is full of sugary sweetness. Woody dryness.

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

One of the Vapeur beers with cartoony pigs on the label - I tasted the female Cochonette version as well, apparently the name for the same beer in 33 cl bottles, though I believe Cochonnette also mentioned an ABV of 9.5%. Anyway, this had a yellowish white, moussy, quite stable head and deep orangey copper colour, hazy. ’Fresh’ yet somewhat funky aroma of grains, orange, strawberry, coriander, lemon peel, cheese, earth (which could be the chicory), barnyard, yoghurt, dry yeast, honey, cheese, pepper. Vivid fruity and estery onset, lemony and even slightly lambic-like tart touch, rounded and fully malty mouthfeel, light caramelly, very yeasty, spicy notes especially towards the finish, with mild, earthy, leafy hop bitterness in the finish, alcohol well hidden. One of those delightfully tasty Wallonians, a kind of hybrid between a saison and a Belgian-style barley wine. Along with their Saison de Pipaix and their Vapeur en Folie, I’d even consider this somewhat of a classic.

Regular.
