Bottled (as Vapeur Cochonnette). Dark hazy orange colour, mediumsized white head. Aroma is rubbery with hints of flowers, fruits and spices. Flavour is dull, spicy with hints of malts and hops and some soapishness. Spiced aftertaste.

(Bottle 75 cl) Vapeur really produces some rather unique and excentric brews and this is no exception. Reddish orange colour pretty much without any head and a rather flat appearance. Some fruit in the nose but already here you sense the sourness. In the flavour I find some initial sweetness which is rapidly replaced by an immense sourness. Not the gueuze-sourness - this has it’s very own character. Huge sediment at the bottom, making this finish a lot softer when poured. 250699 As "Cochonnette" - basically similar to "Cochonne" but offered in 25 cl bottles which the brewery claims matures differently - that is, with less character. 270999

An amber beer with chunks floating around and a small off white head. The aroma is very fruity with notes of prunes, raisins, and alcohol. The flavor is very sweet with notes of fruit especially prunes and quite. Sparkling on the tongue and with a dry end.

Hazy orange-amber; good orange tinted head, collapsing. Chalk, then cookies, malt and refined brandy-like alcohol. Woody, fine patisserie and something smoked. No MartinT, your pork rind IS there somewhere. Very complex nose, anyway. Taste is unfortunately overwhelmed by sweet alcohol. No more brandy, just sweet heavy liqueur. Still, some caramel and some wood. Not really convincing. There are some Brett-like phenols, but they can’t save the day. Quite full-bodied, some dry-out effect, very complex palate. I cannot find it unbalanced, but the taste is at odds with the nose. Bitterish-woody aftertaste. It won’t be to everybody’s liking. But it has some qualities that I cannot ignore. Typical Walloon, anyway I look at it.

Undated bottle. Pours a bright orange with lots of sediment floating around, no head formed. Smells like sharp oranges, and more phenolic fruits. Alcohol apparent on the nose as well. A strange sour spoiled milk or rotten vegetable quality in the nose as well. The flavor is hugely sweet/sour, like it's got plenty of sweet and sour sauce in it, mixed with hops. Not sure what to make of this. Has a weird old cheesy flavor as well with some alcohol apparent. Texture is watery and thin. Fruit flavors, cheese, bitter hops and rotten vegetables. . .hmmm, this one's goin down the drain.

Hazy golden beer with a vinous and fruity (apples) aroam...very fruity! The beer is sweet with apple jam like qualities, with slight floral hops. The alcool is pretty much felt in mouth but the body is still rather tame.

Pours slightly cloudy, not much of a head. Heavy aromas of flowers, purfume, malt and fruit with a little alcohol. Stong taste of flowers and cloves. Almost too strong. Heavy on the carbonation too. Not very good at all, very hard not to add to the kitchen sink!

I drank the Cochonette, petite vapeur cochonne, but this is probably the same beer. Cloudy orange/brown color, short dying head. Aroma is sweet, only slightly malty, horseblanket. Taste is sweet, malty, cookie, yeasty. Malty palate also. Not my kind of beer.

Bottled. Cloudy range-brown. Yeasty nose with notes of oranges. Sweet, fruity and malty with some butterscotch and a syrupy finish with medium bitternes.
