Treat yourself to a rare delight. The voluminous raspberry bouquet will greet you long before your lips touch your glass. Serve this Wisconsin framboise very cold in a champagne flute. Then hold your glass to a light and enjoy the jewel-like sparkle of a very special ale.

Oregon proudly shares their harvest of mouth watering berries, which we ferment spontaneously in large oak vats. Then we employ Wisconsin farmed wheat and year old Hallertau hops to round out this extravaganza of flavor.

Bottle as pictured. Thanks again to Adam Jackson.Tart berry notes, raspberry puree, lots of berry sweetness that covers up anything else. No artificial fruit at all. Well balanced. Yet the texture is really sticky and syrupy. Really awesome dessert brew and I understand why everybody goes totally crazy for it. High end of the fruit beer style. Easy to drink a fruit beer this well developed.

Thanks Adam for sending this one to me! He’s sending more of these so figured I’d crack this one open and give it a try. IT’s currently 9 months old so I hope it’s still great!

A - Very much filtered with no sediment at all, gorgeous blood red appearance with a 2 finger head.

S - The nose has nothing like fake raspberry syrup. It is pretty much all earthy sort of muddy / grassy fruit nose.

T - Wow. Simple yet so complex. The malt or beer itself sort of takes a back seat to this gigantic raspberry taste. It’s a handful of raspberries in a glass with carbonation. That’s the best way to put it.

M - Nice big mouthfeel on the swish. tart and dry finish. very grape-skin like as I rub my tongue over my teeth

O - Very drinkable. Simply ann incredible fruit beer! Possibly the best I’ve ever had.

Dark red with a rosy head. Strong, sweet raspberry aroma. Nice raspberry flavour, very authentic and natural. Not overly sweet. A good one.

From Jan 2008

From my notes last night:

I got this bottle in a trade with Joe1510. Thanks Joe!

I poured it from 750ml waxed bottle and it's a beautiful ruby red with a good but fast receding head of pinkish foam.

The smell is an awesome nose of raspberry and a faint dose of wheat.

The taste is just as the name implies. Great big raspberry flavour just on the tart side with wheat floating in the background and a bit of yeast and perhaps wood. It's medium mouthfeel makes it a very succlent brew to drink and the carbonation is pretty spritzy which adds to the enjoyment. Man, I love this stuff. It's been too long since my last sampling..

The finish is all raspberry for me and it lingers on with a long aftertaste. Boy, am I happy I was able to get this in a trade...thanks again, Joe!!!

Bottle courtesy of changeup45. Tart raspberry and creamy malt aroma. Pours amber tinged garnet with a moderate creamy pink head. Tart raspberry and creamy lactic malt flavor. Medium creamy body, lively carbonation. New Glarus does the most amazing fruit beers.

Bottle as shown at Camp Beer XI. Pours a cloudy amber with a small paperthin head. The aroma is a strong raspberry and funk. Medium mouthfeel with a strong raspberry tart and sweet finish. Really enjoyed this one. A very impressive fruit beer from New Glarus.
