Treat yourself to a rare delight. The voluminous raspberry bouquet will greet you long before your lips touch your glass. Serve this Wisconsin framboise very cold in a champagne flute. Then hold your glass to a light and enjoy the jewel-like sparkle of a very special ale.

Oregon proudly shares their harvest of mouth watering berries, which we ferment spontaneously in large oak vats. Then we employ Wisconsin farmed wheat and year old Hallertau hops to round out this extravaganza of flavor.

On tap at Sour&Bitter Copenhagen. Beer in the glass light red, small head. Sweet aroma, a bit moldy, intense hints of cherries. Starts very fruity, modest sourish, more and more moldy. Less fruity finish, still quite moldy. A bit disappointing.

Re-rate 12/15: Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel. Thanks Becca. Deep red. Aroma with lots of natural raspberry juice, a bit candy-ish. Sweet and mildly tart raspberry flavor, somewhat candy-ish. Slightly sticky. Very juicy. A lot better than last time. 8/4/7/3/14=3.6

[5/10/12] Draught sample at Sour & Bitter. Clear deep red color. Aroma is somewhat medicinal with berries. Very sweet berries flavor. Medium-bodied. I was looking to try this for a long time, and it’s very disappointing. 5/4/6/3/11=2.9

Keg at Sour & Bitter 2012. It pours clear deep ruby, with a thin off-white head. The nose is gummy bears, funky, sour yoghurt, sweet raspberry and strawberry. The taste is sweet-tangy red fruit: raspberry, red grape, watermelon and lime, as well as gummy bears and Ribena, with a tangy, sweet-sour finish. Medium body and average carbonation. A solid tangy fruit beer, which I prefer over the Belgian Red.

Sample @ the Sour & Bitter event in Copenhagen. Pours clear dark reddish brown with a small creamy pinkish white head that quickly dissipates without leaving much trace. Smell is sweet and sour with grass, lemon zest, raspberries, burnt sugar and hints of lemon juice and vinegar. Taste is very sweet and sour with lemon zest, orange juice, raspberries, grass, burnt sugar, dark bread, golden syrup and hints of vinegar. Mouthfeel is sticky sweet, tiny tart and medium bodied. Finish is sweet and sour with grass, raspberries and hints of vinegar. Nice raspberry character but it’s way too sweet to be enjoyable.

750 ml bottle. Thanks to mashmaster for this one! Deep red, clear liquid with small to medium light brown head. Aroma of fresh raspberries, red berries, wheat, more raspberries, raspberry soda, oak and cranberries. Taste is medium sweet, light tart and not bitter at all. Lots of notes of rapsberries. Medium bodied with nice carbonation. Really good. Refreshing and lots of raspberry flavour and aroma.

Purchased Jan 2011 at Woodman’s in Oak Creek, WI, price $7.80. 2,400th Rating! Pours a pinkish brown in a small sampling chalice, ring of foam. Smell is sweet raspberry juice, nothing else in the way. Taste is raspberries in cream with just a little bit of tartness on the side. A very slight hint of barnyard flavor based on the spontaneous ferment in wood. My previous rating was for a gluten-free raspberry brew, but this one still keeps in beer heritage with slightly thick malt, more in the mouthfeel than on the palate. I ask the same question I asked with my first Dark lord: is this really worth all the fuss? I agree, it may be the best fruit beer you can find, and it’s different than any other fruity alco-pop.

750 mL bottle. Pours a coppery, slightly pink color, with an off-white head mixing orange and pink. Raspberry aroma, some funkiness, light tartness. Juicy raspberry flavor mixes with toasty malts, some tartness. Juiciness makes it seem sweeter than it actually is. Quite well done, nicely balanced.

From the 1/2012 3R6P tasting. This is the first beer that I have had from this brewery and one that I have been eager to try for quite some time. I was not disappointed. +++ Sampled from a 650 ml brown bottle this beer poured a dark red-brown color with a medium sized beige head that faded quickly and left decent lacing. The aroma was tart sugar and raspberry. The flavor was very tart yet sweet very strong raspberry jam with a nutty honey undertone. The finish was very long tart and tangy raspberry jam, bread and honey. Fairly full bodied. Excellent.

Bottle (trade with arkurzynski - huge thanks). Tart raspberry and malt aroma. Hazy reddish brown color with small head. Sweet-tart raspberry and light malt flavor. Tasty - sweet without being cloying.

750mL bottle, pours a mostly clear ruby red with a small beige head. Aroma is pure raspberries, candy cane, subtle tartness, but the sweetness overtakes. Flavour is pure raspberries, raspberries and more raspberries - what else is there to say? The sweetness is not cloying, the tartness is almost non-existent, and the balance is perfect. For the style, this is phenomenal. Immensely enjoyable.
