Tasted from the tap on the 11/07/2015 at the Caminha Artbeerfest. Dark brown color with a lacing white head. Aroma of roasted malts and peaches. Flavour is quite sweet for this style. Next one please!

Re-rating (previous 1.5) Review according to BJCP2021 guidelines (style 8B). Bottle 33 cl - Batch F085LP1 (BB 01.03.2025). AROMA: medium-low diacetyl aroma, followed by a low roasty and almost smoky malt background. APPEARANCE: very dark amber color with ruby highlights. clear. low creamy tanned head with ok retention. TASTE: initial low diacetyl note immediately followed by medium roasted malt notes with a coffee-like impression. medium bitterness with a dry and roasty finish. PALATE: medium-creamy body. medium carbonation. OVERALL: a Schwarzbier with formulation (excessively roasted) and fermentation problems. The flavour is a bit ok although too much roasted for a Schwarzbier.

Bottled 500ml @PBFVIII
Deep amber color, small off-white head. Chemically, medicinal aroma. Medium-bodied. Tart, medicinal, "dry yeasty" flavor. Quite awful.

On tap @ Celorico da Beira Beerfestival. Black colour with a beige head, good lasting and nice lacing. Aroma has toasted malts notes with black chocolate hints. Flavor is strong chocolate, black coffee and slightly bittery. Very drinkable.

Bottled@PBF VIII. Deep copper colour with a small beige head. Aroma is turpentine, some dark berries as well as mild glue and a bit ashy notes along with it. Flavour is ashes, dark berries, some sticky strange sweetish sour notes as well as mild toasted notes. Not the most horrible beer around, but feels it probably was having some kind of infection going on.

50 cl bottle @ PBF
Aroma has toasted notes, sour berries and bretta. Flavour has bretta notes, some roasted malt and sour milk. Odd, I think the bretta notes were not intentional here.

500ml bottle @ PBF 2013 from andregoncalves. Thanks!

Pours dark brown, almost black with a smooth head. Aroma of grainy malts, hints of caramel and earthy off-notes. Taste is earthy, grainy and malty with hints of bread. Finish is sweetish, malty and grainy with some earthy notes. A bit messy and unbalanced.

Bottled, thanks andregoncalves! Black with rich creamy head. Lightly roasty nose with slight sulphur and yeast. Light-medium bodied with clean mouthfeel. Come coffee, notes of metal and sulphur. Low bitterness. The light yeastyness and sharp mouthfeel works against it.
