It’s the final and most intense day of a five-day test match between the West Indies and England and tensions are high – four runs to go with two balls remaining. This is the West Indies last chance to win – a nail-biter.

The entire Oval falls silent as our batsmen assume their positions in front of their wickets. You need something to quench your nerves and your thirst so you feverishly search for a Carib in your cooler buried deep in the ice – nothing is better than a cold, cold, Carib. As you begin to drink, the bowler gallops down the pitch, throws the ball and up it goes! All eyes dart to the umpire whose two index fingers slowly reach for the skies as thousands of fans jump to their feet– six runs and the West Indies have done it again!

Since 1950, Carib has been a bona fide thirst-quencher and a symbol for everything quintessentially ‘Caribbean’ – energy and warmth that are briefly tempered by a cool sea breeze. It is a balanced, full-bodied and distinctively smooth lager that takes ‘refreshing’ to another level. The revitalizing appeal of this continental-style brew has made it an instant and permanent favourite and the first choice for any occasion.

330ml bottle from Asda BBE Sep/20. Pours pale gold white head which leaves lacing. Aroma of malt, grain and sugar. Moderate carbonation which dissipates to low if drank from a glass, its better on the palate straight from the bottle. Light body but not overly so for a pale lager, a little sweet and then a peppery dryness with minor bitterness which is interesting. Taste is cereal, sugar, light malts, a little citrus but all very mild. Decent drinkable lager with a reasonable finish just needs more flavour.

Can in a trade with tfontana. Thanks Tom. Crystal clear gold. Aroma is light toasted grain, corn husks. Flavor has a touch more malt sweetness then the standard pale lager. Not overly sweet yet... as I drink all I taste is corn. Not good.
