Wittekerke Wit is easy to recognize by the elegant glass it is served in, its sunny colour and creamy foam head. The taste is nicely rounded with a well-defined herbal bitterness. The late famous beer expert Michael Jackson described Wittekerke Wit as creamy, aromatic, with a clean, teasing, perfumed fruitiness and a faintly herbal tartness.

Medium white shiny head. Hazy opaque pale yellow body. Spicy perfumy herbal aroma with papery soapy notes. Dry-sweetish mealy papery perfumy lavender taste with citric notes. Light body. Mild mouthfeel. Dryish mealy nothing aftertaste with papery notes. Light and drinkable, but perfumy and underflavoured. (0.25l bottle, de Biertempel, Brugge.)

not great, not terrible. was on a mission to find the most authentic white ale available in my area and came across this from michael jackson’s 500 beers. with the explosion of white ales and witbiers around the world, and new variations coming out every day, this one from belgium is left behind as tasting a little too average. nothing new or special about it, but still a nice beer on a hot summer day.

Bottle. Creamy white good mostly lasting head. Greenish yellow colour. Moderate hoppy aroma with some citrus notes. Not too many fruity esters in either aroma nor flavor. Moderate bitter flavor, some citrus notes. Average moderate bitter finish. Watery palate. A little too thin.

Refrigerated bottle poured into a glass. The aroma is mostly coriander. Pours a little hazy pale yellow, with little head, nice lacing, and some carbonation. Taste is coriander, herbal grainy wheat, and light citrus.

Location: On Tap at Capital Ale House, 12/26/09

Overall Impression: This is one I have had plenty of times before, so I'm surprised I haven't rated it. This is the first time I've had this one in a while, so I figured I'd grab a glass on tap. Its a hazy yellow beer, typical look and feel for a Belgian White. A nice beer, clean, wheaty, drinkable.
