For 80 years Red Stripe has embodied the spirit, rhythm and pulse of Jamaica and its people. Eugene Desnoes & Thomas Geddes really started something special in Kingston back in 1918. Barley malt and the finest Yakima hops were combined with lots of island attitude to give Red Stripe its now world famous easy taste. Enjoy the Jamaican easy vibe.

(Bottle) Pours clear yellow gold, with no head. Aroma of biscuity malt with some veggie and grass notes. Light body, well carbonated. Lemon tang in foretaste, quickly gives way to reasonable biscuity malt which fades away for a somewhat watery finish. Refreshing, drinkable, not great.

Just a slightly-below-average canned lager. Doesn’t have any qualities that would see you rushing back for more but nor does it have that sickly-sweet edge or metallic bitterness that tends to make cheapo lagers less palatable.

Vaalean kullankeltainen kirkas olut kohtalaisen kivalla, pitsiä jättävällä valkoisella vaahdolla. Tuoksu lagereille tyypillisesti varsin tunkkainen ja mitäänsanomaton. Maku on todella vetinen ja laimea, pienellä maltaan maulla ja katkeruudella. Suutuntuma hiilihappoinen ja raikas, mutta vetinen ja ohut. Kylmänä menee laimean vichyn korvikkeena ja varmaan toimii Jamaikalla, mutta ei täällä. Kivasta pullosta plussaa.
