For 80 years Red Stripe has embodied the spirit, rhythm and pulse of Jamaica and its people. Eugene Desnoes & Thomas Geddes really started something special in Kingston back in 1918. Barley malt and the finest Yakima hops were combined with lots of island attitude to give Red Stripe its now world famous easy taste. Enjoy the Jamaican easy vibe.

Thin beige head left a spotty cover on a slowly carbonated clear pale golden coloured body. Wet cardboard, grain & tobacco aroma. Medium bodied, soft, limp & cloying. Sweet, concentrated juice & unknown fruit tastes. That's really poor.

0.33 bottle. 0.33 bottle. I got it from Jamaica, as a gift on the way to a European Championship match. Thank you. A big red-banded bottle. Not too complicated. Light yellow color, lots of bubbles, and a striking amount of foam. Sweet malty simple lager aroma. Medium-bodied, a little interesting, tart, rice-corn, but not a bad aftertaste. A little watery, a little corny, but not a bad thirst quencher, there is even a hop bitterness. I would drink more of it on the beach in Jamaica.

Jamaicából kaptam, ajándékba EB meccsre menet. Köszönöm. Tömzsi vörös sávos üveg. Nincs túl bonyolítva. Világos sárga szin, sok buborék, és feltűnően sok hab. Édeskés malátás egyszerű láger illat. Közepesen testes, picit érdekes, fanyar, rizses-kukoricás, de nem rossz mellékíz. Picit vizes, picit kukoricás, de nem rossz szomjoltónak, még komlós keserűség is van. Jamaicán nagyobb mennyiségben is innám a parton.

Many thanks YantarCoast for this one. Appearance: brilliant pale yellow with a moderate white head of medium retention. Aroma: lone grain. Maybe some additional bread. Taste: pure, clean, malty. Faint hop. Low bitterness. Mouth feel: Light plus body. Average to lively carbonation. Summary: an unremarkable mass production lager. I guess would be quaffable on a beach of Jamaica. Otherwise not great.
