A stronger version of our Lost and Found Abbey Ale brewed to a more contemplative alcohol content.
Massive in every stretch of the brewing way possible this is the sort of beer that will remind a beer drinker who considers themselves a saint that even saints stray as sinners from time to time.

On tap at City Beer in SF. Pours a deep-brown, almost black, with deep taupe head. Lots of dried fruit on this, with very complex flavors all around. I don’t get a ton of Brett as it is well balanced.

750 ml bottle @ Patricks. Dark brown body with a nice beige head. Quite strong aroma of dark malt, chocolate, dry fruit, spices and alcohol. Flavor is malt, caramel, dry fruit, chocolate, spices, pleasant bitterness and warming alcohol. Full body, long aftertaste. A very tasty and quite balanced beer.

Flaske 0,75l innkjøpt av Rune og delt med Janeriks, MrSoul og undertegnede hos MrSoul 15 Feb 12. Ultradypbrun. Rik plomme/rosinaroma. Smaken svakt syrlig. Litt malt. Mye sødme etter hvert. Tørr avslutning. Utmerket øl.

750ml bottle bought at Vinmonopolet Vika in Oslo. Wire cradle and a cork at the top. Dark-brown body under a tan-coloured head leaving spotty lacing behind. Prunes, spices and caramel malts to the nose. Mild dark spices up front to the taste buds joined by dark honey, raisin and leaves. Dark bitter sweet ending. Full bodied, very well integrated alcohol. Delicious (shared with MrSoul, Finn and janeriks, Tromsø 15.02.2012).

Bottle, 75 cl corked, at Patricks. A big, dense, beige head forms over a mostly clear reddish dark brown body. The aroma has sage, lots of dark dried fruits and a pleasant sugary touch. Some caramel too, and the alcohol is also present. Maybe a hint of acetone. The flavor goes in the same direction, very smooth and balanced, the alcohol level far from pushing. Pleasant carbonation, full body. Lasting finish. A really, really lovely one. 120121

Bottle 750ml @ Patricks Pub og Restaurant, Kristiansand
Pours deep brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, dried fruit, pruns, raisin, alcohol. Taste is medium to heavy sweet and light bitter with a long slightly roasted, fruity, alcohol finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

0.75l bottle shared with ClubGonzo. This biblical brew pours a murkybrown body with some dark sediments and a thin sidesticking head. Aroma is dark and malty, chocolate with lots of roasted caramel, ripe strawberries an it has a light alcohol sting. Really nice aroma. Full-bodied and has a near sticky mouthfeeling and it's softly carbonated. Flavor vise this is somewhat on the sweet side with lots of raisins, some nice caramel and quite a good amount of alcohol that's leaving a nice warming aftertaste. Also some herbal hints just in the ending. Solid brew no doubt, but for me this was perhaps a tad too sweet and flat on the palate. Wont call this a beer a beer of biblical potions just yet, but by all means a good beer.
