A stronger version of our Lost and Found Abbey Ale brewed to a more contemplative alcohol content.
Massive in every stretch of the brewing way possible this is the sort of beer that will remind a beer drinker who considers themselves a saint that even saints stray as sinners from time to time.

2008 Vintage Pours a solid dark brown with faint ruby brown highlights when held to light and a huge fluffy beige head that persists forever. Smells of pepper and spice with a solid dark sugary background. The flavor is sweet with sugary malt, a bit of dark fruit, lots of pungent and bitter spice, some pepper and other yeasty phenols. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a sweet almost bitter mouthfeel. Iβve been sitting on this one for a while, I remember liking it a bit more when it was fresh. As is I am neither excited nor disappointed with it.

Location: 750 ml bottle from Sparrow-Downtown, 9/9/12
Aroma: It has a sweet, malty nose, some candied sugar, dark fruit, caramel, spice, and alcohol
Appearance: It pours a dark-reddish brown color with a thick beige head and medium lace
Flavor: The flavor is also heavy sweet, like the nose, with a good amount of alcohol as well
Palate: The body is medium-full, it feels mildly acidic, is a touch sticky, a touch hot, and finishes a little dry
Overall Impression: I liked this one. A very nice Belgian strong. This was another quality Belgian style offering from Lost Abbey.

Poured from a 75 cl bottle into a dogfish head goblet. Very dark, almost black with a light tan head. Cardoman and orange peel aroma. Very triple - like. Cloves and caramel malts in the flavor. Quite nice.

Draught at Lost Abbey. Pretty orange color with brown. Nose of barnyard hay and grass, cocoa, raisins, and herbs (rosemany?). Grassy, herbal flavor with cocoa and raisin, grapes. Fruity, tangy, challenging yet tasty stuff.

750 ml cage corked bottle. Deep red, mahogany brown color topped by a massive bubbly tan head. Rich roasted malt nose redolent of dried fruits, molasses, soy sauce and licorice. Sweet dark malts dominate. Sticky treacle-like mouthfeel. Iβm tasting molasses, licorice, plums and dried figs. Some yeastiness and some hop bitterness. A rich, slow sipping ale with lotβs of flavor.

Bottle. Dark ruby brown with a large creamy head. This beer reminded a lot of an Christmas beer. A lot of spices, in particular, ginger. (Swedish pepparkaka). Also resin, grass, caramel, pepper and malt. Complex and interesting but too spicy for me.
