Very good yellow-beige head over cloudy reddish-brown beer. Very fruity-aromatic nose (strawberry, orange, grapes); other yeasts, probably Brett, touch of vinegar/pickles. Leather, fruit (sour kumquat?), liquorice, brown sugar, chocolate-covered sweet sinas. I can find the raisins, not really the honey, and certainly not the rosemary. Short bitterish onset for every sip, then more sweet-fruity. Well-bodied, very slick, some alcohol, well-carbonated without getting spritzy. Very good components, but those seem to have some trouble cohabitating. Nice, but might benefit from some extra balance.

2008 bottle from a trade with cbkschubert. Pours dark reddish brown color with light khaki head. Aromas of dark fruits and brett. Flavors of raisins, figs, molasses and some sourness. Medium body with lively carbonation. Thanks Craig.

bottle, pours dark brown with a thin tan head. Yeasty sweet potatoes and alcohol nose. Nice thin roasted malt and light astringency. Finishes with touches of smoke and peated malt.

1 pint 9.4 fl. oz. corked bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 9.0%. Very dark brown colour, big pale brown head. Moderate sourish fruity and dusty aroma, hints of lightly roasted malts, wet cardboard and damp basement - certainly not impressive. The flavour is very sweet, fruity and vinous, notes of raisins and dark dried fruits, brown candi sugar, some oak. Noticeable hops and dust in the finish.

29th August 2008. Little brother to ’Judgement Day’. Opaque brwon beer. Rich with a well blended fruitiness. Warming alcohlic finish but still feels like a beer where as it’s big brother borders in to Madeira territory. Very drinkable.

On draught at Cheeky Monk in Denver. The beer pours an opaque mahogany color with a medium tan head that dissipates slowly. Rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of dark malt, ripe fruit and yeast. Full body with flavors of plums, malt, yeast and some spices. The finish is funky fruits and spice. Slow alcohol burn in the background throughout. Good all around.

Bottle 75cl. @ home.Unclear dark brown color with a average, frothy - fizzy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is light heavy malty, roasted, caramel, spicy, cinnamon, alcohol. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration, spicy. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light to moderate alcoholic. Bottle with many thanks to gorditoabd. Pours a dingy leathery brown with a couple of fingers of fizzy/frothy head. Aromas are interesting and I totally had this one pegged incorrectly... I would have guessed it was light citrusy... it is dark and brooding. The sour funk from the brett is the first thing that I pick up and it surprised me. (I really should read labels.) Brown sugar and dark pit fruit are also present in the nose. Flavor is an odd mix of the sweet brown sugar and prune/plum presence mixed with just a touch of tartness from the brett. I would love to see how this ages out to check whether it develops more funkiness. Then again, it’s darn fine now, too.

Bottle from Beermerchants.com. Pours a dark brown with a beige head which dissipates quickly. Aromas of figs, dates, chocolate, roasted malts, raisins, herbs. Flavours of raisins, dark chocolate, burnt malts, cinammon. Nice warming alcohol mouthfeel. Finishes sweet and herby. Nice.

Bottled, thx to NoiZe. Cloudy dark brown color, medium brownish head. Aroma of roasted malt, bit spicy, some rosemary and honey (as mentioned on the bottle). Malty taste with a soft sweet spicy bite, nicely balanced. Slight fruity as well. Very enjoyable brew.
