Opaque brown colour, small head. Aroma of spices, chocolate, malt. Nice mouthfeel, there's body, but it's also easy to drink; moderate sweetness, it seems just right; big spice flavour, but also raisins juice, candied orange; it's like drinking an elegant Christmas pudding (but not as sweet or sticky); warming alcohol.

Dark color, almost black; medium head, reducing fast. The aroma is not impressive, instead there is a light sourness, and very light spices. It has a good body structure, with a rich chocolate flavor; the spices are subdued (cinnamon? oranges...), but more evident than in the aroma; in the end it indulges too much on the roasted malts, and the alcohol burns a bit too much. Powerful, a bit chaotic, not Belgian.

Bottled (Thanks stoutlover72!). Hazy amber colour, not much head. Aroma is raisins, alcohol, yeast, mild fudge and some liquorice and herbs. Flavour is quite much the same along with quite much grassy notes. A rather nice Belgian Strong Ale.

Small brown head. Dark brown body. Vinuous herbal roasty aroma with eucalyptus notes. Dry-acidic intense spicy eucalyptus taste with roasty wild berry notes. Disharmonic. Dry-acidic chocolate and wild berry taste with eucalyptus notes. Decent, but tastes clash. (Oslo beer junta tasting.)

C&C 750 mL bottle shared by Immy at his own Backyard Throwdown. Pours a burnished hazy copper color with a medium head. Fair head retention and lacing. Funky aroma has tart cherry and dark fruit notes. Taste is toffee, cherries, berries, light chocolate and very light funk. Full bodied.

(2009-8-7) 7,3,8,3,17 dark brown, small yellow head aroma is sour, raisins, spices. flavor is spicy, caramel, slight honey, dark fruits/rasins. actually tastes really good. 2016-2-6 bottle from kihoskh. Very dark, small light brown head. aroma of alcohol, malts, spices, dried dark fruits. Flavor is roasted malts, spices, peppery spiciness, raisins, taste is sort of like a spiced up quadrupel, lacking some of the more rustic belgian yeasty notes. rating from 2009 stands

Bottled 0,75l (Konttori, vintage 2008). Dark ruby color, small espresso head. Strong nose of bretta, raisins, spices and other yeasty notes. Flavor has coffee, bread, raisins and quite strong clove/ginger-spicey notes. Sweet and spicey, Bretta is not so evident in the flavor than it is in the aroma. Aftertaste has also some chocolaty notes - maybe it is combination of dark malts, honey and raisins. Otherwise good beer but I am not a big fan of spices.

(Bottle at Pikkulintu, Helsinki, on 2009-03-27 -- shared with isos, thanks!) Dark brown and hazy. Small white head. Sour and fruity aroma. Full bodied and dry palate with little carbonation. Wood, sourness, raisin, bit of sweetness, bitterness and some rosemary in taste. Sour aftertaste. Great one.

Dark ruby with a lasting off-white head. Rich and complex aroma of caramel, cherry and pineapple, leather and other brettanomyces nuances. Rather sweet with cherry and chocolate flavours, funky notes and caramel and toffee.

75cl bottle. Pours dark brown with a small creamy brown head. Nose is sweet and sour of nuts, yeast, caramel and dark fruits. Medium and smooth palate. Lots of plums/raisins, dark sugar and brett. Hints of cherries. Very nice!
