I was a little cautious when I purchased a bottle of this. I have not been impressed that much with other saranac beers, tho they are something alternate to the regulars. This beer pours darker than a real belgian white, it actually looks more like a darker hefe. Aroma is kind of yeasty citrus and a little alcohol. Do I taste some orange in there? Slightly below average carbonation. No offense on the flavor or the finish and no lingering aftertaste. Perhaps a tad watery. Overall very pleasant, this is now my favorite saranac beer. Does not have that typical saranac flavor in the background that I have become accustom to with all their other styles.

12oz bottle-pours a white head with cloudy orange-yellow color. Aroma is musty wheat. Taste follows.

Pours a cloudy yellow color with a medium thin and foamy white head, with decent retention. Minimal lacing. The aroma is fruity and lightly spiced. Light-bodied and crisp with a light floral hops and spice flavor that is short-lived, along with a mild fruit character in the background. The finish consists of a nice zesty spice and citrus flavor but again falls off quickly. I would say this is an average beer all around.

Brown bottle, 12 ounces, from a trip by Ian to the US; eye: amber with yellowish reflections, lightly haza, nice white head that disappears rapidly, some lacing, a bit of effervescence; nose: coriander, "stale" citrusy; mouth: coriander dominates but that flavor falls rapidly, coriander comes back but more subtly, a bit of bitterness and alcohol, that’s it, light body, rather thin texture, nice carbonation, finale of average lenght where the coriander dominates; overall: disappointing but if you want to know what coriander smells and tastes like this is the beer FRANÇAIS Bouteille brune, 12 onces, d’une excursion de Ian aux États-Unis; oeil : ambrée avec des reflets jaunâtres, légèrement voilée, belle mousse blanche qui tombe assez rapidement, dentelle, un peu d’effervescence; nez : coriandre, citrique « éventé »; bouche : la coriandre est le goût dominant mais celui-ci tombe assez rapidement, un relent de coriandre, un peu d’amertume, un peu d’alcool, c’est tout, corps léger, texture plutôt mince, bonne carbonatation, finale de moyenne durée où la coriandre est plutôt présente; en résumé: désappointant mais si vous voulez savoir ce que ça sent et goûte de la coriandre, gênez vous pas

I like this beer. American brewers can’t usually equal the Beligians in the witbiers but this is a pretty good attempt. It lacks a good aroma but makes up with a fine taste, not overwhelming. Easy to drink but with taste.

Not too bad overall, liked this one from Saranac. Nothing overly special, and it tastes a lot like other Belgian White beers.

Bottle. Apple, clove and coriander aroma. Orange yellow color - cloudy with small head. Slightly sweet apple and coriander flavor with decent body. Saranac did a pretty good job in copying a Belgian witbier - actually could pass as an average witbier in Belgium.

A Belgian white from Saranac. That really says all you need to know. +++ Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a medium golden color with a large white head that quickly faded. The aroma was light and wheaty. The flavor was mild, wheaty and had some citrus but very little spice to it. There was a faint wheaty aftertaste. An acceptable Wit, but nothing I would really seek out again.

Slightly hazy golden colour with orange highlights and a dense soapy white head. Aroma of coriander seed, blueberry, yeast, curacao and malt-the best Saranac beer i've smelt! Medium to Light-bodied; Sweet initial flavour of blueberries and coriander seed quickly making way to a malt background. Aftertaste clean-showing wheat and blueberries with a bit of curacao. Overall, a decent representation of the style-worth trying which is not always true with Saranac beers! I got this twelve ounce bottle from my sister's fiance, which he purchased at Harris Teeter in Pentagon City (Arlington), Virginia as part of the Winter 12 pack. I sampled this one on 27-November-2003.

Hazy copper with large soft head. Peppery orangey aroma. Fresh and sweet up front with a spicy finish. Lingering cherry pit like bitterness. Minty and tangy tones hang around the outside. It didn't pair with food as well as I had hoped (sushi with wasabe) but it was still an enjoyable and fairly complex beer.
