Bottle @lakeuden panimojuhlat, Seinäjoki. Thx Timo and Euphemos! Pours deep brown with a thick white head. Nice cocoa Arona, some chocolate cream in aroma. Flavor has sweetness, cocoa and sweet milk chocolate. Bit thin.

Bottle from Wegman’s, served in snifter. Dark brown and medium bodied, with very little aroma. Cocoa and honey flavor is cloying at colder temperature but more pleasant when the beer has warmed some. Not an outstanding porter, but a decent beer.

Draft mason jar pour at Beaujos PIzza in Idaho Springs, Colorado. The pour is opaque brown with a small khaki head. The aroma is soft vegetal with sweet artificial cocoa along with some sweet malt. The taste is the sweet malt up front, followed close by the artificial cocoa and then some off flavors. The palate is light to medium bodied with the lingering sweet off taste.

12oz bottle. Ruby brown-burgundy body. Creamy beige head. Honey, brown chocolate in the aroma. A pretty decent Winter Warner, really throwing some Porter into the equation. On the fuller side of medium bodied. Not the thick, opaque black beer of years past. The honey really throws it over the top in terms of sweetness. Could use some hop character to even it out. OK.

Bottle split at Christine and Daves thanks to DLJ, 26/11/13. Dark mahogony brown with a moderate tan covering that clears to a pond. Nose is brown sugars, earthy cocoa, honey roast nuts, milk chocolate. Taste comprises earthy cocoa, light metallic, dark toffee fudge, brown sugar, rather on the thin side and a step down from the aroma. Medium body, moderate carbonation, a little watery, dry light roast tones in the finish. So so porter lacking any real depth of flavour.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 5/6/2013. Pours crystal clear dark reddish brown color with a 1-2 finger dense cream colored head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of chocolate, cocoa, caramel, roasted malt, honey, toast, light coffee, light nuttiness, floral, and toasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of dark and roasted malt notes; with decent strength. Taste of chocolate, cocoa, caramel, roasted malt, toast, toffee, honey, light nuttiness, light coffee, and toasted earthiness. Lingering notes of chocolate, cocoa, caramel, roasted malt, toast, toffee, honey, light nuttiness, and light coffee on the finish for a bit. Good balance of dark and roasted malt flavors with cocoa and honey additions; with a fair amount of robustness and no cloying sweetness after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a creamy and slightly slick mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a nice porter. Good balance and solid robustness of roasted/dark malt flavors with cocoa/honey; and very smooth to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Bottle as shown. Pours a dark brown with a medium frothy beige head that quickly diminishes to nothing. The aroma is a strong cocoa and chocolate roast. Thin mouthfeel with a light roast and vanilla with watery finish. Aroma was promising but not much going on with this one.
