Bottle shared by beerloco at his epic tasting. Thanks Alan! Pours clear orange. Nose and taste of cherry and apricot skin, citrus rind, lemon funk, Brett and tart sour fruits. Others at the tasting said this is the best bottle they’ve had of this, so maybe it’s getting better with age. This is my first time drinking it, so all I can say is that it was quite delicious.

Cloudy dark blond color; almost no head, just a thin layer. The aroma is dusty, sour, woody, lightly minty. The mouthfeel is quite carbonated; there is some acidity, astringency, and again a little minty trace. Good, but not the best of Captain Lawrence.

Thanks so much Trev. Pour is pretty calm, barely any head but a beautiful thick, glowing orange/golden color, can’t really see through it. Aroma is light candy sweet with lots of acetic sourness covering it all up. Oak-y leafiness in there as well. Taste losses the oak and the overarching acetic quality is much less. The candy sweetness works well with the acetic qualities and makes for a cool and slightly different type of sour beer. But otherwise, its not too original as far as the new American sour beers go. And cherries, what cherries?

Courtesy of MCLK. Pours hazy pink grapefruit with micro thin white head. The aroma is tart berry notes, sweet berries and some sugariness. The taste begins even and refreshing and moves into notes of berry tartness and then blends into acidity. The tartness and acidity stay within reason and allow sweet fruitiness to linger into the finish providing a nice balance to the experience.
