Rated from old notes. A skunky bitterness pervades each sip, and a dull metallic note wraps things up. Amazingly the beer has been around since the 1850s ... proof that not all tradition is good. (Though this now seems, thankfully, to be retired.)

Bottle with many thanks to Scrizz. This brings back memories. Glas Heller Freude bottle. Pours clear gold with fluffy white head. Nose and taste of peppercorn, malts and water. Clean.

Uniquely designed bottle 0,33l. Twist cap. Pale golden colored with a creamy lasting head clinging to the glass. Malty aroma. Soft watery flavor with traces of malt. Some sourish bitterness. OK for 2,8%.
