Draught (as ETA Hoffmann Dunkel)@Mahrs Brau. Amber colour, small beige head. Aroma is vegetables, dark caramel malts, toffee and some slight roasted notes. Flavour is roasted malts, some plum, sugar and also freshly cut wood. Flavour was rather nice.

Bottle at the brewery: Deep chestnut-amber coloured, firm creamy off-white head; deep dark-malty nose with a leafy hoppiness, nearly without any toasty notes; relatively sweet flavour, light bodied; slightly increasing bitterness in the sweet-toasty finish. Pleasant Dunkel, a bit on the sweet side........

Draft. A dark red beer with a huge orangey head. The aroma is very sweet with strong notes of bread and medium notes of malt and grain. The flavor is sweet and very malty combined with notes of bread, caramel, and grain, leading to a lightly bitter finish, where the caramel note lingers.

From tap at Ølbaren. Pours dark brown, clear, orange glare and a dense light tan head. Caramel malt, butterish and slight breadish aroma. Candy sugarish note too. Sweet breadish and caramel malt flavoured. Distinct sugarish sweetness yet somewhat balanced by a subtle bitterness. Breadish, sweet toffee and caramelish finish. A bit too toffeish and sweet for my liking.
