Tap into a shaker showing black but translucent rims. The nose shows deeply roasted coffee-style malts. The palate is light bodied and medium carbonated; much more akin to a porter than a stout. Flavors of lightly roasted malts giving flavors of lightly roasted coffee and a surprising milk chocolate-like background. The finish is lightly bitter, very much close to a latte.

Location: Draft at Little Town NJ, 4/25/13

Aroma: The nose is fairnt roasted malts, some coffee, and a bit of chocolate
Appearance: It pours a basically black color with a small head on it
Flavor: The taste is similar to the nose, roasty and a little sweet, on the bland side
Palate: The body is light-medium, it has a decently creamy feel, and a soft carbonation
Overall Impression: This one is not a favorite for me. I really want NJ Brewing to be good because they are so close, but their beers are just a little dull...

Growler. Oily black-brown pour with almost no head. Charred malt aroma with faint chocolate and coffee. Fairly sweet flavor, some char and tobacco along with dough. Faint bitters to finish. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes roasty with faint alcohol notes. Very good overall.
