Golden to amber color, medium short lived head. Aroma was of fresh ginger root, lightly bready. Flavor much the same, dry, bready with ginger as a side note, giving a spicy peppery character at the finish. Well built but just can’t say I’m in love with ginger in beer, and the base beer is pretty uninteresting. Seems as if the beer was made to be neutral and showcase the ginger and it just isn’t something I love. Maybe ginger could work if used in a base beer that had some other thing going for it.

12 ounce bottle into signature pint glass, best before 9/7/2013. Pours lightly hazy golden amber color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light foamy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of lemon zest, ginger, honey, bread, floral, grass, light clove, light caramel, and herbal earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of ginger, hop, and malt notes; with good strength. Taste of lemon zest, ginger, honey, bread, floral, grass, light caramel, light clove, and herbal earthiness. Lingering notes of lemon zest, ginger, honey, bread, floral, light clove, and light caramel on the finish for a short bit. Nice balance of malt, ginger, and light hop flavors; with a fair amount of flavor robustness, and no cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and light-medium bodied; with a smooth and crisp mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with no warming noticed after the finish as expected. Overall this is a nice spiced session beer. Good balance of malt, ginger, and hop flavors; and extremely smooth to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Draught (The Rake, Southwark, London) - Amber with a slight haze. Ginger, toffee and malt in the aroma. Ginger, toffee, nuts and malt all feature in the taste. Not bad, but nothing too exciting either.

At La Casa de la Cerveza. Golden colour with a minimal white head, easy formation but quickly diminishing. Aroma has ginger and fruity notes. Flavour, as the same as aroma, has ginger notes, with a medium bitterness at the end. Carbonation is medium. Body is light.

12oz bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a clear dark gold with about a finger of white head. Aroma of ginger and bready malt. Taste of ginger. Light bodied with a thin texture. Lively carbonation and a long finish. Overall, not bad. Great lawnmower beer.

Bottle. Ginger and malt aroma which reminds me of a pumpkin ale. Clear gold with a small beige head. Spicy ginger and malt flavor, light grassy finish. Light carbonated body. I love ginger in general, and this tastes like ginger, ergo I like this beer. If you don’t care for ginger, and you were expecting this to be anything like gingerale, you’re gong to hate this beer.
