Draught. Honeyish golden colour, small slightly off-white head. Aroma is caramel, toffee and then a bunch of fruitiness and sweet floral notes to it as well. Flavour is very similar, but also has some resin and herbal notes to it. A bit too much hops for my taste.

Heh, heh. My bottle says caution hop explosion. Looks like a darker hefe. Thin viscous creamy head. Big giant dull volatile hop aroma. Sickening, mouth coating, cloying sweet hop bitter finish bullshit. Another slug? Ditto. THAR, you have it. If you are a refined lager lover, this soupy slugger may trigger your girlie gag mechanism. Throw caution aside, this stuff must be bigger than 8%. Yes terribly and rudely on style for a double IPA.

Bottle at home, thanks to an IP trade with Kurt, 20/12/12. Opaque mid amber/orange with a thin off white head that retains at the edge and as a film. Nose is caramel malt, floral hops, light pine, touch of grass and sugars. Taste comprises caramel malt, orange, touch of grpaefruit, citrus notes, hops, pine. Medium bodied, soft carb, good feel, hop bitterness in the finish. A decent well balanced IPA.

12 ounce bottle from Oak Tree Liquors. Pours a pale amber color with a thin foamy tan head. Average head retention. Aroma of huge, fresh citrus and the faintest bit of caramel. The taste is bitter citrus hops, almost pithy. Grapefruit and lemon. Faint caramel malts. Light bodied, spritzy carbonation, lingering bitterness. I’m not sure how a beer can be one-note but also interesting but this one does it.

Hazy copper coloured body with a nice thickish off-white coloured head about two centimetres tall. Aroma of fresh resiny and piney hops, a lot of alcohol, a good malt scent and a bit of niagara (non-vinifera) grapes noticeable at the tail end. Medium-bodied; Chewy hop flavour at first with a great sweet grapey and pear flavour that is super strong - you can’t miss it. Aftertaste shows a nice malt backbone with a strong alcohol flavour all taken over by a great and smooth hop bitterness that really shows resiny and piney bites. Overall, a nice and sweet, but still equally as hoppy, beer - definitely worth trying if you can find it! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 22-April-2012 for US$2.25 sampled at home in Washington on 10-July-2012.

Bottle at Oliver Twist, May 2012. Clear light amber with a small white head. A lot of grape and hops in this one. Not bad but a bit one-dimensional. Bitter finish.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy apricot color with a huge creamy orange-white head that lingered and left incredible lacing. The aroma was sweet grapefruit, pineapple and pine. The flavor was bitter with a very strong grapefruit presence and moderate notes of pineapple and pine. Underneath were tangy malts, sugar, faint caramel and honey. The finish was long with grapefruit and pine lingering. Fairly full bodied. Well done.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 1/27/12
Aroma: The nose is rather hoppy with some grapefruit/citrus, pine, resin, and a little caramel
Appearance: It pours a cloudy, rusty orange color, a small off-white head and mid-heavy lacing
Flavor: Medium sweet up-front, it is strong on the grapefruit, and has a mid-heavy hop bitterness later on
Palate: The body of this one is medium, it is slightly sticky on the mouth, with a soft and fairly dry finish
Overall Impression: I thought this was a fairly nice IPA. It does a pretty good job of living up to its billing, as it is bitter and hoppy. It has a pretty good flavor, with a nice citrus and resiny feel. This is a nice IPA for sure.
