Bottle thanks to FlandersNed. Pours purple. Nose/taste of blackberry, port wine, vanilla, earthy honey and cocoa. Medium body. Very smooth finish.

Courtesy of dcschiller, thanks Dave. Pours clear plum juice with some nice legginess along the inside edge of the glass. The aroma is nice and sweet with sugary honey, hints of sweet and faintly of tart berry fruitiness. The taste is similar with smooth sweet honey and mild fruit notes. It seems to get a bit dry to midway but maintains the same honey berry notes right into the finish. I didn’t get much of the “port” presence though.

Sample at the brewpub. Purple-amber color with no real head to speak of, and some sticks to the sides of the glass. Aroma of berries and honey. Full-bodied with a slightly syrupy mouthfeel, and has a vinous and berry character. Sweet malt and honey underneath. The finish leaves a lingering blackberry aftertaste. Good all around.
