Pours deep gold into a tulip. Off-white soapy head with little retention recedes to hug rim. Smoke, slight rum and nutmeg aromas. Thin with sweet spices and pumpkin upfront turning to smoke before the lasting dry bitter earth finish.

Capped 750 from Bine & Vine. Pours dark copper with a creamy/foamy beige head. Aroma of light pie spice with a little smoke. There’s a strong aroma with more pieces, but I can’t identify them.Med + body. Flavor is very mixed. Smoke; pie spice; veg; oak; rum/booze. It’s actually very well put together, the flavor is acceptable, but it is way out of any "normal" category. Finishes as flavored, but there seems to be a cinnamon note coming out. I think the rum is coming out more as well. Really avant garde ale.

Bottle shared by Jay at tasting at my house. Pours cloudy orange with off white head. Nose and taste of smoke, rum barrel, oak, vanilla, smoked pumpkin, orange and some cinnamon/nutmeg. Lots of smoke. Medium body. Much better than the other version.
