Bottle. Pours muddy brown with light brown head. Nose/taste of caramel, toffee, oak, lightly soured fruit and chocolate. Medium body. Lightly soured from likely a positive small infection. Similar to an oude bruin. A bit oxidized.

Bottle: Poured a cloudy deep brown color ale with a super large foamy head with perfect retention and great lacing. Aroma consists of oak, deep sweet malt with some vinous notes. Taste is a quiet complex mix between some oak and woody notes with some huge sweet malt bill and a spicy finish. Full body with limited filtration and with great carbonation and no alcohol was discernable. Very different take on a style (old ale) that is not clearly defined, very intelligent used of oak and still very well balance. Wow!

Thanks to valpoaj for this one - deep mahogany beer, with high carbonation and a frothy head - semi-earthy, almost leathery aroma, with some fruit skins and pits, chocolate, some vinous notes - fairly earthy, with strong oak, light chocolate, dark fruit, some red wine character - a wee bit of warming spiciness - a bit of funkiness - seems like it’s infected, but it’s good that way.
