Sample at GABF 10/04/2014, thanks to my BIL for assistance with note-taking. Golden color with a thin white head that evaporates quickly. Spotty lacing. Peppers and hops in the nose. Light body with flavors of chili pepper, hops and pale malts. The finish is hot and peppery with a lingering burn. I don’t know why I knowingly made this my last beer at the fest, but needless to say it stuck with me on the walk back to the train. Slightly above average overall.

GABF 2014. I knew I was in trouble when she only gave me a .5oz pour and said that is all I needed. She was right
Mild aroma of fresh green peppers, so far so good. Take a sip, Holy hell, that’s hot
Not bad, but HOT

Tap. According to the brewer it is their most commonly ordered sampler - usually for somebody else :). Pours clear light amber with a medium white head that dissipates with nice lacing. Aroma is chili pepper and a grain/malt background. Flavor is dominated by spicy chili. I believe the hottest beer in the world claim. There are notes of grain and mildly sweet malt in the background, but they are buried under the chili bite. This one amuses me.

Bottle - Smells and looks like a pale ale. No hints of chili on the nose, but when you taste it wow. All heat, but no flavour. Interesting but make sure you share a bottle and keep a glass of water handy.

On tap at Apex in Portland, split with Matts_Property, pours a hazy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma of hot, hot chilis / jalapenos - not much else. I was not prepared for what came next. Flavour is massively intense with hot, hot, hot, hot chilis / jalapenos. Don't have much more than a small sip of this if you want to retain your taste buds! Quite the experience for sure.
