Our Head Brewer traveled to Europe on a drinking binge. Not really. Okay, yeah really. But in a good way He scoured the Bavarian countryside in search of the perfect pilsner. Researching old world styles of brewing and learning from the masters he created this crisp refreshing beer with spicy Czech Saaz pellet and whole leaf hops, sweet crackery malt and a clean finish.

Draught. Pours and looks like a pilsener. Hoppy aroma like an IPA but tastes like a pilsener. Medium bodied. Nice hop balanced finished. A friend said it tastes like a Prussian pilsener. Worth having again.

On tap at Fat Head's, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma is restrained, with notes of spicy hops and biscuity malt. Flavour brings out lots of spicy hops, a crisp grassiness and biscuity malt to back. Clean and well-structured. Highly drinkable pils. Very good.

12 ounce bottle into lager glass, bottled on 5/28/2013. Pours lightly hazy pale straw color with a nice 2 finger dense and rocky white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a thick cap that lasts. Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with plenty of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of big lemon, pear, grape, cracker, bread, light honey, floral, grass, light pepper, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance of malt, hop, and yeast ester notes; with good strength. Taste of lemon, pear, grape, pepper, cracker, bread, light honey, floral, grass, light pine, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Light earthy herbal/pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, pear, grape, pepper, cracker, bread, light honey, light pine, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance of hop, malt, and yeast ester flavors; with good robustness and no cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, crisp, and slightly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a really excellent German Pilsner style! Great balance and robustness of hop, malt, and yeast flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Bottle. Nice golden body with a decent head that dies down to a thin film fairly quickly. Hops are heavy in the aromas, especially at first. Kind of a lemony/grassy presence. Flavor is crisp and hoppy with a decent amount of honey sweetness. Nice beer.
