Can, 0.33l. Very deep brown, almost black pour. One finger frothy beige head, medium lasting. Solid lacing on the glass as it goes down. Good on the nose, roasted malt, cocoa, coffee. Mild coal notes in the background. Full body, soft carbonation. Soft mouthfeel, oily, chewy texture, very nice on the palate. Roasty bittersweet taste. Rich aroma, strong and robust. Roasted malt, caramel, coffee. Molasses, charcoal. A bit sticky. Dark chocolate, liquorice, smoke, subtle woody notes. Liquor, lingering warming alcohol presence, dry, subtle burn on the tongue. Hints of dark fruits, slight hop bitterness. Long lasting finish. Excellent porter. Rich and tasty.

(Bottle) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of strong black coffee, dark chocolate, liquorice, treacle and a touch of tar. Malty, roasted taste with milky coffee, dark chocolate, liquorice, blueberries, blackberries, molasses and a generous roasty bitterness in a warming finish. Full body, with a certain sweetness. Solid and well made imperial porter. Excellent.

33cl bottle from Brewers Haven. Near black pour, tiny ring of beige head. Aroma is sweet malts, light roast. Taste adds a light roasty, bitter edge to the sweetness, coupled with a silky smooth feel. Alcohol gently creeps up on the back end. A real treat.

330ml bottle. Jet black colour, no head - some macropore, beige to tan bubbles rise with delay and build a small ring at the bezel. Intense, chocolately, dark malty aroma, bitter hoppy overtones, notes of dark chocolate, chocolate cake, a cautious touch of liquorice. Taste is bitter hoppy and roasty, chocolately, dark malty, hints of liquorice, bitter coffee, dark chocolate; lingering, bitter roasty, minimally ashy finish. Oily to viscous texture, smooth and soft palate, soft carbonation.

Polecam zdecydowanie
