Full Malted Jacket is our take on a classic "wee heavy" Scotch Ale. It's brewed with a base of Golden Promise malt, an heirloom variety from Scotland. Notable additions of light and dark British caramel malts with a smidgen of chocolate malt help add flavors of rich toffee. It's hopped just enough with British Goldings hops from East Kent to balance things out.

On tap at Beachwood BBQ, pours a clear dark amber with a small beige head. Aroma brings out lots of caramel upfront, followed by some red fruits and toffee. Flavour is heavily caramel forward, with red fruits and bready malt. Sweet but not cloying, structured well. Good stuff.

Bottle. Pours hazy reddish brown with a tiny off-white head and some lacing. Aroma is light, with dark sugars, malt, biscuit, nutty. Light sweet, minimal bitterness, but a bit metallic and some zesty citrus. Medium body, low carbonation, creamy mouthfeel. Interesting to be sure.

Enjoyed on tap as part of the Beachwood sampler at Bruery Provisions in Orange, CA. Appearance like red wine but with a thin white ring. Aroma is kind of crazy, it’s non-apparent then starts to sting, and it smells like paint thinner. Taste is light, definitely tastes like a British ale, it has a candy like quality from the chocolate and caramel, but it’s subservient. I do enjoy it though, complex with a lot going on but I can’t pick many items apart.

Draft. Mahogony beer with a cream colored head. Caramel aroma. Caramel and plum flavor. Medium-plus bodied. Caramel and plum lingers with light earthiness. More caramel than toffee and expected a little more from it.
