Amazingly hoppy and full flavoured golden ale with long lasting smooth, citrusy and refreshing overtones. A true real ale.

Cask at gbbf 2015 day 4. Pale golden coloured pour with a lasting loose white head. Aromatic nice floral, hedgerow hop, little fatty sulphur. Flavour is composed of light butty grains, hedgerow berry. Hawthorne. Faint citrus palate is semi sweet, light, good condition. Nice English golden in good condition.

At GBBF. Ordinary bitter with coarse, snow white head and hazy ’old gold’ colour, perhaps a bit paler than usual for the style. Aroma has hints of pear, flowers, overripe peach, toasted bread and sweaty grains, the latter not disturbing me too much in this case. Fruity taste, graininess softened by a sweeter, fuller caramel character but subtly so, slight sourish hint, bit metallic, mild grassy and floral hop bitterness in the finish. Decent.

9th April 2015: gravity pour at the Isle of Man CAMRA beer festival. Golden body, thin white head. Mild citrus notes in both the nose and taste, gets sweeter mid-sip and ends dry with a bitter aftertaste. OK, but another citrusy golden brew, like so many others around at the moment.

Gravity dispense at EBF XX, EUSC, 02/04/15. Clear golden amber with a moderate off White covering that clears to spotting. Nose is pale malt, melon, bread dough, straw. Taste comprises orange, straw, floral notes, hint of bread. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. Ok.
