bottle. Pours cloudy mahogany, small tan head, ring of residual. Aroma is rum, dark sugars, bourbon, toffee, caramel, vanilla. Flavor is fairly sweet, light bitter. Full body. Noice.

Opened the 750ml at noon during the pandemic. Pours murky dark brown with no head. The aroma offers up brown sugar fueled malts and then a bourbon nuanced brandy booziness. The taste delivers similar notes with slick sweet thick maltiness and brown sugar. It quickly flows into soft supple sweet bourbon and a simmering cherry and date reduction sauce with an edge of boozy brandy. Solid noon time sipper.

Bottle shared. Pours very dark brown with a medium brown head. Aromas of dark fruits, chocolatey malts, lots of brandy boozy notes, vanilla, caramel. Taste is sweet, lightly oxidized character, butterscotch, vanilla, bready malts, nuts. Impressive!

Tasting at Matt's
Dark brown colour. Aroma of raisins, of Royal Oak pub in London, tobacco, light almonds, bourbon. Full bodied, strong raisin, good malt depth, caramel, strong bourbon too, which leads to some ending booziness.
Not very classy, but very good.

Dark brown, with a bit of haze. Thin head. Sweet alcohol up front, and a bit of nuttiness, and there's some barrel. Nice soft malt character. I like the barrel note - I think the brandy is respectable. Good. Like really nice.

750mL bottle, pours a deep dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out lots of toasted caramel, bready notes, plenty of bourbon, and a bit of toffee. Flavour is decadent, with heaps of caramel, loads of bourbon, brown sugar, and vanilla. This is a massive beer - loads of bourbon and brown sugar on the finish. Excellent.

(On tap @ MBCC 2017 Blue Session, Copenhagen) Pours basically black with a pale tan head. Notes of fairly dark malt with notes of raw sugar, toffee, dark caramel, rather woody, moderate bourbon, sweet dried fruit/raisin quality that felt a touch brandied, vanilla, light chocolate, nutty toast, rather sweet overall but finishing moderately dry, some alcohol, spirit-soaked wood, light spicebox, vanilla, soft fruit. Medium-full bodied, low carbonation, a bit of boozy heat. Proper ASA, a bit loaded on barrel and booze for a double-barrel piece, didn't necessarily smooth the bourbon out with the brandy as much as I'd desire. Still a good sip.
