This is one monster of a Brown Ale! We use an obnoxious amount of chocolate malt and roasted barley to give this beer a cast iron backbone. Our oatmeal brown pours a dark mahogany with aromas of dark chocolate and coffee.

Purchased at Bottles and Cans in Chicago, IL; enjoyed after a productive day while watching baseball. Appearance is dark brown with a thin white head that rims around the glass, looks like a nutty oatmeal porter. Aroma of chocolate malt, hazelnut, light carbonation, smell is nice. Taste is pretty good, definitely can taste the nutty elements and is candy bar like without being too sweet. Pretty good stuff.

Bottle. Deep mahogany with a large tan head. Sweet chocolate and earthy oat aroma. Light chocolate, roasty malt, and earthy oat flavor with a light bitter finish. Medium creamy body, moderate carbonation. Very much like a porter, as opposed to a brown ale. Very nice.

On tap at Bangers and Lace. Pours a near black with an earthy light brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a nice combination of coffee and roasted malts with a bit of dark grain backing. Flavor has a similar combination of roasted malts and coffee with a hint of bitter chocolate and a hint of dryness.

Pour is a dark brown with a nice tan head. Aroma is a nice roated malt, some chocolate and nutty. Flavor is a nice roasted but sweet malt. Some chocolate and fresh earthy hops make an appearance. A nice brown ale with the oatmeal making this above par.

Tap at Hangar 9. Pours a clear dark brown with about a finger of off-white head. Aroma of burnt malt, coffee, caramel and some dark chocolate. Taste is about the same. Roasty malt, coffee, burnt sugar and some chocolate. Medium bodied with lively carbonation. Overall, this is one great beer.

On tap at the brewery over X-Mas. Translucent mahogany and brown with an off-white head. Chewy malt flavor and great bitterness through. Lots of roast and some chocolate as well.
