It might sound like an echo, but it’s not. This collaboration with Stillwater Artisanal explores the true depth of Mango flavor. Three layers of taste and aroma from fruit and hops. Go Mango!
If you’re going to put fruit in a beer, there’s no better fruit to use then mango. At least that’s what Magnus here at Dugges Bryggeri says. So, when there was time for another Dugges x Stillwater Artisanal collaboration, Magnus posed the idea of a mango beer to Brian of Stillwater. Turns out, Brian had the same idea about mango and beer as Magnus. So, we set out to do a mango solo! To make it a sour was a no-brainer. We’ve got nothing but love for our sour collaborations so far, and we wanted to continue exploring that. Said and done, with mango flavor from two types of mango fruit and from mosaic hops we did it. Mango, mango, mango!

Bottle at home. Hazy golden pour with a thin white head. Tons of mango in the aroma, light lime, light bubble gum and melon. The taste notes further include salt, tropical fruit, passion fruit, papaya, light grains, Fanta. Light body, medium to high carbonation and a tart and lightly hop bitter finish. Tap. Hazy orange color with hardly any head. Aroma is natural mango, a bit lassi-like, yoghurt. Taste is mango, lots of sourness, some milky yeasts. Medium carbonation, crisp and dry. Whoa. Very mineralic finish. Feels extremely sour, but actually isn’t. Very refreshing.

Keg at The Hop Locker, Southbank, London. A hazy golden/amber coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Tart, fruity, mango on the nose. Tastes similar, quite tart, fruity, mango. This actually worked really well on a hot day in London, if it were frozen on a stick it would have been even better.

Tåkete gul med fingerhøyt hvitt skum. Lukter mango, stikkelsbær og noe sitrusskall. Sursyrlig smak. Stikkelsbær, rips, mango og noe melon. Mye kullsyre, hvete. Får litt berlinerweisse følelse når jeg drikker denne. Kort.

Hazy yellow color, small white head. Aroma is tart, lactic, fruity (Mango). Light-bodied. Mouthpuckering, minerally. Fruity mango flavor and Mosaic hop oils. Refreshing but quite tart, so not so easy sipper. Mango vichy with tartness.

Bottle from systembolaget. You can smell the mango from the moment you open the bottle, what a superb use of mango. The smell, the colour and the taste all reflect the magnificence of a great fruit. It is lip smacking sour but not overly done. Nothing is overdone. I would even say some parts are under done, slight flavoured sparkling water feel at times. Very nice mango sour though.
