It might sound like an echo, but it’s not. This collaboration with Stillwater Artisanal explores the true depth of Mango flavor. Three layers of taste and aroma from fruit and hops. Go Mango!
If you’re going to put fruit in a beer, there’s no better fruit to use then mango. At least that’s what Magnus here at Dugges Bryggeri says. So, when there was time for another Dugges x Stillwater Artisanal collaboration, Magnus posed the idea of a mango beer to Brian of Stillwater. Turns out, Brian had the same idea about mango and beer as Magnus. So, we set out to do a mango solo! To make it a sour was a no-brainer. We’ve got nothing but love for our sour collaborations so far, and we wanted to continue exploring that. Said and done, with mango flavor from two types of mango fruit and from mosaic hops we did it. Mango, mango, mango!

Keg at the Star & Garter, Bromley. Pours hazy orange with a white head. Bags of mango on the nose with a splash of apricot and pineapple. Lots of mango in the flavour ably assisted by some pineapple, peach with some light sour notes. Quite dry. Nice.

Draught @ Sori Taproom, Helsinki. Pours yellowish with a smooth head. Aroma of mango juice, tartish notes, lactic sourness, hints of citrus, lemon and grapefruit. Taste has loads of mango juice, fruits, citrus, zesty lemon and mild tartness, hints of sourness and lactic notes. Finish is juicy, fruity and tart with loads of mango, tropical notes, zesty lemon and grapefruit, some hints of sourness. Quite smooth and juicy, but a bit light bodied and unbalanced.

Il gusto al naso si indirizza sul fruttato. L'intensità olfattiva è elevata e la persistenza olfattiva è sufficiente. Il cappello di schiuma ha una discreta resistenza. La grandezza delle bollicine è medio-fine. L'aspetto del liquido è opalescente. Il colore è giallo dorato torbido. Il corpo è strutturato. Il dolce è medio e l'amaro è medio: non si surclassano. L'intensità gustativa è elevata e la persistenza gustativa è buona. Il gusto è piacevole per una birra parecchio gassata. Le sensazioni boccali finali sono lunghe. Il finale è bruschino. Il retrogusto è intenso. In bocca l'aroma restituisce sentori di agrumi e soprattutto di mango.

Milk and Hops, NYC bottle: pours hazy orange yellow with a white head. Aroma is mango and lots of it plus some lacto funk. Taste is hella mango and a light tartness. Gery gery fruity. They are not joking. Good.
