Barrel Program I is a blend of two barrel-aged beers:
Beer 1 – An American farmhouse ale fermented in stainless steel with ale yeast, then aged for 20 months in French oak red wine barrels with a mix of wild yeast and souring bacteria.
Beer 2 – Peeper wort fermented 100% with Brettanomyces in French oak red wine barrels, and aged 12 months.
We bottled the blended beer in December 2012 and let it condition until its release. The result, a refreshing blonde ale with considerable barrel character. Barrel Program I was an exercise in patience – it took over 3 years to craft. We hope you enjoy it! Cheers!

Bottle thanks to JBPortland! Pours clear golden, medium fizzy off white head, dissipates quickly to a ring and some lacing. Aroma is Brett, oaky, white grape, hints of acetone. Flavor is light sweet and light plus bitter, acetone, oak and white grape dominate along with a light Brett funk. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel. Eh.

Bottle offered @ RBSG. No hiss upon opening. Pours a hazy yellow appearance with no head. Aroma had some funk (which you cannot fake), light cheese, berries, and grapes. Plenty of tropical fruits as well. Sure enough, no carbonation in the mouth. I wonder of this bottle was just off because the other bottle that was opened at RBSG didn’t appear to have this proble. Some lactic acid, cheese, cobwebs, and barnyard funk in the flavor. Nothing crazy good, but had it had carbonation, I probably would have rated it 4.0-4.1.

Bottle, thanks! Pours a cloudy pale yellow with no head whatsoever. Aroma has a nice light funkiness with a bit of lemon and a touch of sweet grain. Flavor is funk forward with earthy grain and light sour lemon notes.
