Traditionally craft brewed in Oxfordshire using organically grown English Barley Malt and Organic Target Hops.
Scarecrow is a wonderfully refreshing Golden Ale evoking lazy, hazy days of summer in golden meadows & ripe barleyfields. A winning combination of tart citric fruit flavours perfectly balanced by a rich biscuity maltiness and rounded off with a spicy bittersweet finish.

Old rating. 500 ml bottle from Old Town. Light stone fruit, pear and apple aromas with the usual biscuit/toffee aroma of British bitters. Taste is interesting with slight tartness playing against the sweet toffee malts. Dry and light peppery finish. OK.

Bottle pour. Pours a hazy copper color with a big foam head and lace. Soft grainy aroma. Flavor is grainy and a little floral. All flavor is light, and a little creamy. Finishes mostly empty. Not a whole lot going on here. Itโs alright.

This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a hazy semi - transparent orange to brown color with a slim fingerโs worth of white foamy head dissipating to the body and leaving some nice looking foamy rings clinging and then falling into the beer.
The smell had a rich sweet nutty to caramel maltiness running in and out underneath my nose.
The taste was mainly sweet through the malts leaving a slight creamy nutty aftertaste. A light dry sweet nutty finish presented itself adequately.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation seemed appropriately styled as it didnโt give off too much harshness.
Overall, I say this was a pretty good ESB that I would have again. It would definitely go well with food.

*Old rating. Best before 31 Aug 11. Smooth and herbal-mild Ale. Fresh with caramel hints, smooth, slightly bitter with hints of grain in the aftertaste. Nice.

Bottled 500ml. -straight from the bottle near bus station in Birmingham. Sweet malty, some caramel and light herbal with discreet hoppy notes. Touch of fruits in the finish but all in all nothing special here.

Smell of malt. Cloudy amber colour, high white foamy head. Aroma of herbs, malt, rubber. Bitter. Artificial taste. Flat carbon, mildly oily texture. Quite a disappointment.
