Bottle pour from Total Wine & More, Brentwood. It's a clear, golden yellow with decent sparkle, finger-width off-white head with fair retention and trace lacing. Aroma is dank, funky resin, citrus with malt backbone. Taste is mix of citrus, danky pine resin, later pineapple and bread. Mouthfeel is light bodied with thin mouthfeel, significant alcohol warmth, soft carbonation and mostly sweet finish as taste. Overall, reminiscent of West Coast DIPA of old. More flavor than bitterness but not getting passion fruit. No born on date so don't know if this sat a while and hops deteriorated or this is what was intended. Maybe interesting in that this is a lager, but feel like I've been here before. Many times.

Some citrus and mash malt here. Decent balance but not a huge amount of character. Some booze. Bottle.

This beer is a hazy orange-gold color with a medium foamy white head that recedes steadily to a film. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of tropical fruit, hops, yeast and malt. Medium to full body with flavors of grapefruit, dank hops, earthy yeast and malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a citrusy hops aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Bomber from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours bright orange gold with a transient off-white head. Understand the garlic reference two reviews down. There’s a lot of hop. Tropical fruit and citrus work together in strange ways. Med body. Flavor is burning citrus rind with lots of South Pacific fruit suggestions. And I can still think garlic. Not likely true, but ... Malt is rather back of the hop, but it’s malty enough to support this monster. My, but lagers have come a long way.
